Student Career Center

Opportunity knocks! Mid Am is the perfect occasion for green industry employers and students to connect with one another at the Student Career Center—a forum where full-time horticultural students, including high school seniors, and employers discuss job opportunities.

What to expect: Employers set up booths complete with company representatives and information to introduce their company to the new crop of hort grads and conduct preliminary interviews. Students are free to walk from booth to booth within the Career Center to meet the many potential employers and determine which might be a comfortable fit.

Students

Free of charge to students, the Mid Am Student Career Center is intended for full-time students pursuing a career in the horticultural field, including high school seniors. Students who wish to walk the trade show floor may do so by registering online or on-site. Cost for entrance to the trade show is $15 if you register online before January 17, 2012, or $20 on-site. For either you must present a valid student ID to receive the student rate. Entrance to the Mid Am Student Career Center only is still completely free.

Employers

Each employer will have a table where students can talk individually with company representatives and a list of all participating students will be sent in advance to all participating employers to facilitate future contacts.  In addition, the employer list will be posted on the Mid Am website, and with your permission, will include a link to your company’s website.  All horticulture industry companies are encouraged to participate in this beneficial exchange.
